I sort of posted on this in a separate thread about pending orders, but I'm running into the same problem and it really needs to be addressed. Let me go through the situation and the problem here:
A new student attempted to subscribe to a course in Guru, but their credit card information (authorize.net plugin) was incorrect, so as a result they had multiple pending orders.
The user FINALLY entered the correct credit card information and was successfully subscribed to the same course they had pending orders for.
The user then immediately received the automated email stating their course subscription was expired.
How do I keep this from happening in the future?
